Rozhovory s českými lingvisty 21. století – group of authors (2025)

The book "Interviews with Czech Linguists of the 21st Century" presents interviews with 21 Czech linguists and offers readers diverse perspectives on language issues and linguistic research. The texts are based on interviews conducted between 2020 and 2023 for the podcast "Čejovna" of the Department of Czech Language at the Faculty of Arts of Ostrava University. These interviews have been transcribed and supplemented and updated in collaboration with the individual personalities.
The publication primarily presents linguists of the "middle generation" – those who, following tradition, bring new insights to Czech linguistics and shape its current form. The selection of individual personalities also covers various areas of linguistics and linguistic institutions, demonstrating their interconnectedness. The discussed topics intertwine and recur, always viewed and evaluated through the prism of individuals. Thus, the focus is on the worldview and professional story of specific personalities, encompassing not only the professional topics they engage with but also their motivation for choosing the linguistic profession.
