Vzdělávací aspirace současných seniorů – Krupková Kateřina (2024)

The lives of seniors are addressed by various fields – social pedagogy, gerontagogy, social policy, social work, demography, sociology, as well as the workplace that is foundational for the authors of this book. The presented monograph is based on a project conducted at the Institute of Social Studies of the Faculty of Education at the University of Hradec Králové and is closely related to the University of the Third Age at the University of Hradec Králové, where seniors are the recipients of educational offerings. The educational aspirations of contemporary seniors were examined. The authors decided to map the motivations and reasons for education in this population group, which has certain specificities. Topics closely related to external influences participating in the process of shaping educational aspirations and the educational process itself, including the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, are represented here. Attention is also given to seniors as a potential risk group threatened by socially pathological phenomena. The text thus provides a comprehensive insight into the educational needs of this target group.
