Description
This book presents a historical overview of the stucco craft and introduces the various materials and techniques used. It outlines the key stages in the technology of processing stucco mass, which developed alongside technological knowledge and varied according to the particular artistic period. The book draws on the rich collections of the National Technical Museum, specifically the Sander Collection, which includes architectural elements from a wide range of artistic periods as well as decorative two- and three-dimensional sculptural elements. It explores the use of these techniques in Czech workshops and studios where traditional stucco methods and historical materials continue to be maintained, and reflects on the condition and development of the stucco craft in the Czech environment after 1989. It also shows how stucco is used in modern interiors and in the creation of designer products and artefacts. The book is in Czech.
