Řeč materiálu – Půtová Barbora (2023)

The proceedings Material Speech present the conclusions from the expert conference Historical Interior and the Speech of Materials held in 2022. The proceedings feature specialized studies from various expert stages and thematic units, including texts from both foreign and domestic specialists. The studies focus on several areas, including the definition of certain concepts such as historical interior, original technologies, material quality, and authenticity. The contributions further examine building elements as an integral part of historical interiors and the reconstruction of historical interiors or their parts using knowledge of original technologies and materials. The studies capture authentic traditional technologies and materials, their qualitative research aimed at identifying the causes and factors that are sources of transmission, modification, or the decline of traditional craft technologies. They also address the impact of detailed knowledge of traditional materials and technologies on the rehabilitation of historical objects. Therefore, the individual texts in the proceedings can contribute to the protection, restoration, presentation, and education in the field of traditional crafts related to construction activities and interior design in bourgeois and aristocratic environments.
