Description
The Bohemist, Polonist, literary historian, and university teacher Petr Poslední spent his time during the COVID restrictions writing "micro-essays" – personal and distinctive reflections and observations spread across a wide range of his interests: literature, public affairs (of both "his" countries, the Czech Republic and Poland), music, travel experiences and encounters, both significant and mundane everyday life, the present, and memories... The common denominator of the short texts is the author's curiosity, the need to understand and interpret in his own way, to unmask superficiality, to show that "the emperor has no clothes"... Occasionally, he may even provoke by questioning established clichés and cults in thinking or evaluation. (If the reader is annoyed by, for example, disrespectful trivialization of magical realism, the author may be amusedly laughing to himself...)
