Description
Global interactions have become an integral part of our lives. The world is interconnected through technologies, institutions, and global capital, leading to the intertwining and mixing of cultures and societies. All of this requires new thinking and reflection on issues of justice, which should no longer be addressed solely at the level of nation-states. Is global justice even possible? And if so, how should such standards of justice be set? Answers to these questions are offered by critical social theory, which responds to the social, cultural, economic, political, and civilizational problems of the contemporary globalized world. The book provides an interpretation of the critical theories of Nancy Fraser and Axel Honneth and attempts to respond to current issues of justice in the European and Czech context. The author, alongside a coherent interpretation of the theories of two of the most significant representatives of critical theory, relates their theories to a global context and applies a revised theory to the issue of care justice, which is an essential part of the proper and prosperous functioning of all societies.
