The plot of the book is clear – it is about character. If you care about the character of your children or even your own, it could be quite thrilling. Teaching a child to read, write, count, or even to do a somersault represents a certain didactic art on the part of the teacher. Contemporary pedagogy is significantly advanced in this regard. It has developed countless excellent methodological strategies for conveying information, facts, knowledge, and skills to children. However, what pedagogy struggles with is character education or teaching goodness. This has been the case since time immemorial, especially today. Since the outbreak of the scientific and technological revolution, humanity has made tremendous strides in the field of knowledge, which has reflected in the content of upbringing and education. The amount of information that children must acquire is so overwhelming that there is no time to 'cultivate morals.' Theoretically, we know that upbringing and education should not only be about transmitting knowledge. In every handbook like Introduction to Pedagogy, Basics of Pedagogy, etc., we read that in addition to imparting knowledge, we must also shape the moral-volitional component of character. We must teach goodness. But can we do it? Is it even possible? Is there any method for it? What did the great educators before us – Socrates, Comenius, Rousseau, and others – say about this?
