Description

Professor Miroslav Mikulášek's book is a reflection on more than two and a half millennia of the Platonic-Aristotelian tradition of the art of interpretation and focuses on the search for a scientific paradigm of this discipline in a broader historical context. The author summarizes the methodological aspects of deep hermeneutics, points to the intellectual interconnectedness of Western intellect with the spirituality of the Eastern world, and concentrates on the quest for the very meaning and truth of art and being in the transformations of human thought from antiquity to the present. At the center of his attention is the exploration of the mysteries of the creative spirit's ingenuity and the search for the key not only to the inner self of the creator but also to the soul of the epoch in which the work was born. The idea of knowing the world through words runs through and permeates the entire book. Using the example of the novel Master and Margarita by Russian writer M. Bulgakov, it is simultaneously shown in detail that even the art of words has its soul. The author himself, through this philosophical literary-critical statement, engages in a dialogue with the reader with the aim of awakening their thinking, reviving their interest in moral order and the functioning of the world, and together with them arriving at the truth.
