Utopismus, nebo realismus Komenského projektu nápravy věcí lidských? – Hábl Jan (2020)

The aim of the book is to examine Comenius's vision of 'human affairs' with hermeneutic humility, in the context of emendation. The authors seek to explore the possibilities and limits of Comenius's reform project. The research questions posed in this book are as follows: How relevant is Comenius's vision of the reform of human affairs in the 21st century? Are the concepts of the Consultation realistic, or to what extent are they realistic, i.e., universally valid and applicable to humanity? Or was Comenius's project sheer utopia? Is it possible to remedy the problems of humanity in any way? To move forward? To improve? The project brought together thirteen authors, experts from both Czech and foreign backgrounds, who analyze Comenius's work from three perspectives: historical, pedagogical-psychological, and philosophical-theological. Historians ask these questions: What were the historical contexts of the emergence of the Consultation? Sources, influences? What shaped Comenius's conception of humanity and its reform? Educators and psychologists analyze the educational aspect of the Consultation. What role does Pampaedia play in the overall reform project? Are Comenius's educational plans realistic or utopian?
