Description
Aleš Opatrný's book does not deal with evangelization methods and recommendations on how to conduct evangelization in specific conditions. It seeks to provoke thought primarily about three closely related fundamental concepts – evangelization, faith, and the characteristics of contemporary society. This also includes reflections on today's path of the church and on laypeople as important agents in the field of evangelization. Evangelization is understood here as bringing the gospel closer to a person, which changes their life. Faith is seen as a dialogical reality occurring between a speaking God and a perceiving person who accepts God's message as an answer to their existential questions. Emphasis is placed on the perception of the opportune time (kairos), when a person is capable of receiving the gospel with God's assistance. The characteristics of contemporary society are viewed as an important basis for understanding our contemporaries.
