The book Hawaii: History, Myths, Poetry is the first volume from the literary legacy of Václav A. Černý. Since 1968, he has been studying Polynesian cultures, languages, and oral traditions. He compiled dictionaries and translated modern literature as well as traditional folk literature. The present volume brings texts focused exclusively on the Hawaiian archipelago, containing the author's treatise on the history of Hawaii, period documents, myths, translations of poetry, and also a Czech-Hawaiian and Hawaiian-Czech dictionary.
