Description
Martina Hlaváčková's book is a reflection on the childhood and youth of the poet, lyricist, radio editor, and co-founder of the Jára Cimrman Theatre – Miloně Čepelka. The story of this "Opočeňák" born in 1936 in nearby Pohoří is based on recorded interviews that the author conducted with Miloně Čepelka while preparing her thesis, which she defended at the University of Pardubice. For the purposes of this publication, the entire original text has been significantly revised and authorized by the protagonist in its current form. The use of the professional method of oral history, supplemented by the study of available sources and literature on the history of Opočno, or Podorlicko, from the 1930s to the 1960s, allowed Martina Hlaváčková to create a captivating portrait of the formation of one remarkable human and artistic destiny intertwined with his native region.
