Description
Alexandr Sommer Batěk (1874–1944) was a teacher, inventor, and promoter of education. For some, a peculiar figure; for others, a reflection of his time; nonetheless, a person of human integrity and enthusiasm for truth and knowledge. His last contribution to the world was a pictorial language – neoglyphe. In 1930, Batěk introduced this system of symbols, intended to be a universal script readable in all languages. This book describes the key milestones in the history of artificial languages and neoglyphe as their successors. It also highlights important moments in Batěk's life related to the creation and dissemination of neoglyphe. Included is an edition of all the original texts about neoglyphe and with neoglyphe that have been found so far. The reader has the opportunity to sense the atmosphere of the message and attempt to study this unusual means of communication.
