Description
The author of the book states the goal she pursued in her work in the introduction: 'The fact that I am blind and that sight is generally considered the most important source of information in understanding the world and interacting with others, in everyday life and almost all areas of human activity, led me to the decision to ask how a person who has been practically blind since birth establishes the world as visible yet unseen. ... My work should be an attempt at a phenomenological, i.e., experience-focused, analysis of the specific situation of a blind person. My text will therefore be guided by the questioning of where and how I come to the realization that the world in which I live is visible, even though I do not see it, what aspects of the visibility of the world may appear to me, and how this occurs.
