The fifth volume presents the following personalities: Emil Kolben (1862–1943), an inventor, electrical engineer, and entrepreneur, discussed by historian Miloš Hořejš. Jiří Bičák, a specialist in the theory of relativity, recalls the places where Albert Einstein worked during his stay in Prague in 1911–12. The chapter introduces his close Prague colleague, mathematician Georg A. Pick (1859–1942), with whom Einstein discussed the mathematization of the general theory of relativity. With Bohumil Němec (1873–1966), we move into the field of biology and botany.
