350 let královéhradecké diecéze – Polehla Petr (2015)

The 350th anniversary of the founding of the Hradec Králové diocese was a welcome opportunity to reflect on a number of significant themes from its history. The diocese has undergone numerous changes since its inception and has played an important role in the religious life of the region. It has also made a significant mark on cultural and social life and has influenced societal events in various ways. How did the local church come to life, how did it enrich the life of the universal church, how did it serve the believers, and how did it benefit the population of Eastern Bohemia? These are all questions we ask when looking back. The individual authors of this publication address topics directly related to the history of the bishopric, as well as the history of institutions that the bishopric established or closely collaborated with. Attention is also given to selected personalities of the Hradec Králové diocese. Researchers approach the topics primarily from the perspective of ecclesiastical, regional, and cultural history, but also from the perspective of historical demography, administrative history, and art history.
