Description
In connection with migration after the fall of the communist regime, the number of Greek Catholic believers, primarily from Ukraine, has increased in the Czech lands. In 1996, the Vatican established the Apostolic Exarchate in Prague. The presence of the Greek Catholic Church thus calls for reflection on its identity and mission in the broader context of history in our territory. This is also related to the evaluation of the Czech lands as a place with a Cyril and Methodius mission to be a bridge between Western and Eastern Christianity. These current topics are addressed in the presented collective monograph. The publication is the result of a research team composed of experts from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It emerged from long-term cooperation between the Catholic Theological Faculty of Charles University in Prague and the Greek Catholic Theological Faculty of Prešov University in Prešov, with contributions from staff from other academic and church institutions.
