Description
The book we present to readers is dedicated to various aspects of the lives of Muslims in the Czech Republic. A significant part of the text is based on research findings from interviews with Muslim immigrants from many different countries. The author examined what, according to their own words, has been strengthened in their identity through migration and what has proven to be unnecessary for them. The book also includes information about the Muslim community in the Czech Republic, about the common activities of Muslims, and about the extent to which different Muslim 'worlds' interact or do not interact here. The book is written in a readable, concise language. Readers will also find direct quotes from interviews that the author conducted with Muslims living in the Czech Republic. In the conclusion, three Muslims reflect on the future and direction of Islam in the world, on the situation of the Muslim community in the Czech Republic, and on the prospects for coexistence in a multi-religious and multicultural environment. The book is supplemented by a glossary of less common terms.
