Description

Is the point of silence a possible intersection of truth about being and language? If so, then the invitation to thematize silence is a justified act by the author of this publication. The titular triptych Silence, Being, Language is a realm of thought that questions the connection between being and language. This question is primarily posed to the philosopher of being, Heidegger, and the philosopher of language, Wittgenstein, as two emblematic figures of contemporary Western thought. The author seeks the truth of the intersection, which is the examined concept of silence. Silence as the boundary of existential-linguistic truth. Thus, for example, the boundaries of metaphysical knowability of the world set by Kant, or the deconstructively examined boundaries of Western metaphysics by Derrida, or even Quine's problem of ontological relativity are called, not unlike other linguistic-existential orders, before the court of truth regarding their justification. In the wording of Parmenides' thesis 'To be and to think is the same,' this truth is situated at the intersection point of ontology - being and linguisticity - thinking. Might this urgency perhaps be silently overlooked?
