Description

The intertwining of religious subcultures in today's world increases the need for a more informed understanding among members of various religious traditions and contributes to the search for bridges for dialogue that would allow for peaceful coexistence of spiritual traditions and cultures, serving as a prevention against the "clash of civilizations." For the future of Europe and the Czech Republic itself, the relationship between Christians and Muslims and their self-conception within a secular legal state currently seems particularly crucial. Christianity and Islam face challenges from their own traditions as well as contemporary challenges, both of which today shape their own identity. The presented collective monograph aims to contribute to a deeper reflection on this current phenomenon. The monograph is another output of the research team of experts from the Catholic Theological Faculty of Charles University in Prague on the topic of the relationship between religion and the state and follows the publication "Monotheistic Religions and the State."
