The monograph 'The Business of Baťa in Yugoslavia' is the result of the author's several years of research into the operations of the Baťa company in the territory of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes, later Yugoslavia. The work describes the development of Baťa's business in Yugoslavia from the establishment of the first store in 1919, the founding of the sister company in 1920, to its nationalization after World War II. During this period, the company developed from a complicated beginning into the largest manufacturer and seller of footwear in Yugoslavia. It depicts the establishment and stabilization of the company in Yugoslavia, the building of the factory and factory town in Borovo, working conditions and private life in the factory town, the flourishing of the business, the period of World War II, and the subsequent nationalization in 1946.
