The publication aims to provide readers with information about Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWF) as a growing phenomenon in the global financial market, including macroeconomic and microeconomic contexts. It analyzes the emergence, development, and current and future role of SWFs, while also discussing relevant fundamental concepts in this area, as the issue of SWFs is virtually not covered in Czech literature. The publication is divided into four main chapters. The first chapter focuses on the qualitative aspect of SWFs, providing an overview of the literature and explaining basic concepts. The second chapter deals with the quantitative aspect of SWFs and analyzes the development of these funds in recent years, including their impacts on the economy. The third chapter addresses the theoretical question or the possibility of the emergence of SWFs in the Czech Republic. The fourth chapter summarizes the preceding text and presents the main conclusions and recommendations reached by the authors.
