Description
This is a collection of six prose pieces, more precisely a lot of wild, raw, and even crazy stories, whose heroes are perhaps not even worthy of being called heroes, yet they are. In a world that is punkishly Balkan post-communist (this layered description might deter some, but rather attract others, especially readers who might be a bit tired of the certain orderliness of contemporary prose, both Czech and Slovak), these heroes, these figures, suffer from an extremely strong self-reflection. However, it is not an existentially tormenting and self-examining reflection, but a confident desire to live their own lives, even if they themselves sometimes do not like it. And then there is the author's language, which pulls no punches. It is not harsh in a 'Bukowski' way, it does not push reality away, but makes their world, albeit with difficulties, livable through these expressions, sentences, and thoughts.
