The three main heroes of the book, Danko, Fabián, and Hvězdička, must unite all their strengths to defeat War and save their beloved Rondo. Together they succeed, War disappears, but the scars it leaves remain. The red poppy flowers become the symbol of the city. A straightforward and touching story, told in poetic and visual language, explains to children what war actually is. The symbolism of the story sensitively highlights values such as solidarity, mutual assistance, and courage. The authors of the book are Ukrainian artists Romana Romanyshyn and Andrij Lesiv, members of the Agrafka studio. The book, for which the authors have received a multitude of awards worldwide, is intended for children aged six and up.
