Útěkářka Eva Salzmannová – Machalická Jana (2020)

The book-length interview with Eva Salzmannová has been taking shape since 2015, commenting on key points in the actress's professional career and personal life. The dialogue is complemented by a portrait of Eva Salzmannová, who is exceptional on the domestic scene for her almost exclusive dedication to theater and her consistent balancing between traditional stone theater and studio, experimental activities. After graduating from DAMU, she spent several intense years at the Divadlo Na okraji, which had a strong influence on her, and after the dissolution of the ensemble, she struggled to find a new anchor. As she herself says, she became a runaway, intermittently leaving various engagements and returning to them. It was only on her second attempt that she settled in the drama department of the National Theatre, where she spent nearly a quarter of a century, creating a number of important roles in both classical and contemporary repertoire, especially in the 1990s and the following decade. At the same time, she participated in various studio and often innovative theater projects, collaborating from the beginning with Divadlo Letí, which focuses on contemporary drama, and co-founding Studio Továrna with Viktorie Čermáková.
