Description
Boys have it easier in life. They can fight, play football, be altar boys, ride their bikes in the dark, and pee standing up. The worst is being a little girl because you have to be afraid that one day your period will come and you'll be in trouble. But life in a village at the end of the world is still full of adventures. And then there are all those chickens, geese, cows, and goats. I really like cow dung; when you step in it barefoot, it's so warm! But now people don't have as many animals here. When I was younger, it was different. And that's a real shame. Also, someone is always dying, and then yellow candles are lit like in church, and the coffin is left in the room. That's one of the things that still happens. And then there are all those family stories. Especially when a lot of aunts and uncles are hanging around the house. Everyone has something to tell. Like the one about great-grandpa the stonemason or grandpa Stašek, who worked at the post office and rode a moped. Those were really fun. So come and listen to all of them with me, little by little!
