Description
EUGEN BRIKCIUS – A philosophizing poet in prose and poetry, who writes in Czech, German, English, and Latin. Connections to Dadaism and tributes to mystification are part of his work, as well as the organization of events and happenings as a visual artist. His texts unite Dionysian and Apollonian principles: they are a true sensory intoxication, yet simultaneously aim for perfection, beauty, and reason. He loves demystification, only to recreate the myth immediately: the self-myth. "For two thousand years, the good news has been proclaimed to us, the word became flesh. Probably so that we could understand it better. But now Eugen Brikcius comes and simply turns it around, 'And the flesh became word,' which would reset everything to the beginning. Because, as we know, in the beginning was the word. Only now it is with the author and not with God." BERNHARD SETZWEIN
