Description
A collection of short stories. Sevruk, a Czech poet, translator, and prose writer with Ukrainian roots, writes miniatures, and his heroes often stare at the world like frogs in kefir. There is no hope here; the main character is a rascal, the figures are indifferent, indolent, and loves are doomed to extinction from the start. The humor is dark — just as a side note, so it isn't said. The main hero symbolizes something that cannot be survived, yet even in that, there remains fear. And as hope stands above everything, there are precise stories. The poet loves within the intentions he has set for himself. There is no room for nothingness: 'Like the Khazars to Kyiv; here we are, they say, so take us or not.'
