Description
In the Horev edition, Honorius's Sworn Book (Liber iuratus Honorii) is being published as another low-volume volume. It is a historically significant and influential medieval grimoire, likely originating from the late 13th century. The book derives its name from the oath that bound its owner never to reveal it to the unworthy and not to disclose its contents. Until the 1970s, its text had not been published in print. This is its first-ever Czech translation. The aim of this grimoire is to behold the face of God, or in the words of the book itself: "to look face to face... to praise God and to know one's Creator." The famous magician Dr. John Dee also worked with Honorius's Sworn Book. The Czech edition of the book is accompanied by an introduction from the grimoire literature expert Václav Noha.
