It describes his journey from childhood to graduating from law school and then taking various positions at Prague Castle, eventually becoming a personal secretary. A large part of the book is dedicated to Dr. Emil Hácha and the role of the presidential office during the German occupation, including some detailed characterizations of the individuals who worked at Prague Castle during this time. The book is accompanied by documentary photographs from the author's archive.
