Lovy na Šumavě 3 – Fořt Karel (2025)

The third installment of Hunting in Šumava brings more stories from foresters and hunters from both parts of our western mountain range. They are just as thrilling as the previous ones, and perhaps even more interesting thanks to the individual storytellers. For example, there were memories shared by Ing. Ivan Žlábek, a former gamekeeper from Kubova Huť, Jaroslav Dvořák, and Prof. Ing. Jaroslav Červený, CSc.

An interesting tale comes from Václav Lejsek about a stag and the captures of wild rock pigeons, as well as the story of the tireless hunter Aleš Potužák.

In the story Hunting Passion, hunter Radomír Beneš described the hunt for his strong fallow deer. Ing. Libor Hanzlík hails from Tišnov near Brno, yet he settled in two locations in the Šumava mountain range. His narrative features a memorable recollection of the dog Kraken and the capture of a stag using a triton call.

In the area with a rich population of fallow deer around Nýrsko, Ing. Vlastimil Schmid worked as a gamekeeper in the Svatá Kateřina forest district, where his interesting captures included fallow deer. It would also be a shame not to mention Ing. Jiří Legemza and František Pinkas, whose hunting memories also have their extraordinary charm.

All the storytellers were drawn together by the picturesque nature of Šumava, and thanks to that, stories were created that they shared with you.
