Description
The author draws from the memories of a young woman, Soňa Maicherová, whose middle-class existence was completely destroyed by war, flight, and exile. Together with her mother and nine-month-old son, she had to flee her homeland recklessly, not knowing where fate would lead her or if she would ever see her husband again, who had to enlist in the German army. This book tells the story of how she coped with her life despite all the hardships and blows of fate. Although it is just one of the fates of hundreds of thousands of women of that time, it is still important to inform and tell about it. Most of the witnesses from that time have already passed away. There is a risk that the events of that time will fall into oblivion. That is why it is important to remember what recently happened in Central Europe.
