Description
The seventh book in the series about old crimes from Šumava and Pošumaví takes us once again to the Šumava region with its picturesque meadows and dark forests, a land that is both harsh and beautiful. Most of the local people earned their living through honest work, but occasionally there were those who held different values. We will now look at some of these stories in this book. We will learn who robbed the rectory in the village of Kydliny, why the old pensioner in Záblatí near Vimperk had to die, and how Anna Šperlová resolved a love triangle in Domažlice in 1920. We will tell the tale of the mysterious death of an old lady in the forests of Prachatice, recount how a pub brawl ended in Sušice in 1934, and why two little girls had to die at the hands of a murderer in Klatovy. However, we do not wish to seek sensationalism of the time. Our narrative should also serve as a reflection on why, in the eyes of some individuals, human life has such little value.
