Description
Jan Nowaczek arrived at the Auschwitz camp via the Radom transport in January 1941. He spent several months in the camp before managing to escape disguised as an SS man. During his escape, he reached the Kulig family, who provided him with help even during the harsh wartime when aiding an escapee was punishable by death. Jan Nowaczek was eventually caught again and imprisoned in a concentration camp, where he could not withstand the pressure during interrogations and revealed who had helped him during his escape... The Kulig family was the first place he found help, so the SS men initially targeted them. Pregnant Franciszka Kuligová was imprisoned along with other relatives from the same village. Her husband was not home at the time of the arrest, and after hiding for several days, he eventually turned himself in, asking to be imprisoned in exchange for his wife, who was in advanced stages of pregnancy... Rescued from Auschwitz is an extraordinary true story showing the power of love between two people who sacrifice everything for each other.
