Description
During the Christmas holidays, the extended family gathers at the ancient Marchmont estate, renovated after a devastating fire. For the first time in a long while, aging Greta arrives there with her childhood friend David, who has been with her since she lost her memory completely due to a tragic accident twenty years ago. While taking a solitary walk through the snowy landscape, she wanders to a tree under which lies the grave of a small boy. The inscription on the weathered tombstone acts as a catalyst for her, and Greta's memories begin to slowly return. With David's help, she gradually pieces together the individual fragments of the mosaic that forms not only her story but mainly the story of her only daughter, the charming Cheska, who became famous as an admired child star thanks to her mother's influence. Her film career became the sole focus of Greta's lonely life, and the girl's adolescence was a cruel test for both mother and daughter, in which ultimately both drastically failed...
