Description
Mountain lodges, cabins, huts, and chalets have been emerging almost since the very beginning of tourism. They were places where tourists found shelter in the far mountains, often in extremely inhospitable weather, and many times also a pleasant place to stay, giving a nice and calm impression. The lodge owners were famous for their friendliness and hospitality, and they did not hesitate to rush to help those in danger, risking even their own lives in the rescue. As tourists penetrated the mountains, mountain huts and lodges moved there with them. Originally modest shelters gradually transformed into welcoming lodges or mountain chalets, and some of them have turned into mountain hotels in more recent times.
