I set out on my wartime path at Kursk, fought my way through Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Yugoslavia, Hungary, and Austria. Our opponent was experienced, extraordinarily capable, brave, and brutal. We paid a high price for every destroyed enemy tank, self-propelled gun, and howitzer, as well as for every kilometer of road we traveled. We won that bloody battle, finishing it in Austria and Germany, but so many of my comrades in arms sacrificed the highest price on the altar of victory. They were young, brave, handsome guys. Each of them had a family, each of them had their hopes for a better future and a passion for life. There is so much we can be proud of. We stood against the best army in the world, and in the end, we crushed it. During the war, my crew and I destroyed twenty-eight enemy tanks and killed hundreds of enemy soldiers. And I survived. I wouldn't change anything about what happened. I accomplished a lot and lived my life to the fullest. I am not ashamed of anything I did, and I have always done things with all the strength I had. I have nothing to regret!
