Description
I cannot and do not want to be considered a spokesperson for my generation, yet based on my experience, I can declare: The fate of my contemporaries, burdened by the great suffering of war and exile, can, from this perspective, become a positive shaping factor aside from all guilt and reconciliation not only for us but also for future generations. Even hard truths must be spoken... Rosa Tahedlová was born in Dobrá in Šumava, where she had a beautiful childhood, later studied at a German teacher training institute, and during the war taught at various schools in the Prachatice area. After the war, she lived in her native village and witnessed its decline. She could no longer pursue her profession and got a job in the forest. For more than eighteen years, she had to earn a living as a lumberjack. In her testimony, she describes how the political events and decisions of the time affected her and the people around her. Today, her books are important sources of knowledge for the current generation. This one is primarily a call for peaceful coexistence between Germans and Czechs.
