Description
On a hot August night at the residence of the Swedish embassy in Moscow, the dead body of the ambassador's son, Oscar Rieder, is found. Next to him lies his unconscious lover, Russian prostitute Ludmila. An autopsy reveals that the man died from an unusually high, lethal dose of heroin, despite the fact that the young man had never used this powerful drug. The investigation soon uncovers that it was not a tragic death, but rather a murder... Oscar had last worked at a Russian company involved in the import and export of weapons, where he managed trade with Scandinavia. After his death, prosecutor Skurov recommends his friend – Swede Tom Blixen – for the position. He has no idea that he is putting him in great danger. Tom soon discovers that the company is involved in illegal arms exports. Step by step, together with Skurov and detective Anton, they uncover threads that reach high up in both Russia and Sweden. This gripping crime thriller by a successful Swedish author duo is the second loose continuation of the Moscow Noir trilogy. It portrays the power games surrounding the international arms industry, enormous bribes, and the black profits of people for whom human life has no value whatsoever.
