Description
Four stories by the writer Jarmila Dědková are this time intended for the youngest readers. The first one - Veronika from the sandy yellow house - tells the story of a little girl from a children's home who is adopted by foster parents. In the story Waiting for Petřík, we will experience several extraordinary days with the main character Pavla. Before her little brother is born, she manages to take care of not only herself but also her younger sister and her clumsy dad. She steals a kitten and for the first time in her life encounters death. In the third story Seven Days for Barborka, only child Klárka has to share her little room, free time, mom, and dad with a strange girl Barborka, who stops by their home on her way to a sanatorium. It takes almost a whole week for the two to find their way to each other. Kristýnka from the fourth story has just recovered from angina. Jakub is a boy from the carousel, and the tamed parrot Bonifác loves Kristýnka's petunias. And one day, when the fair is at its peak, the parrot goes missing...
