Description
A proven storyteller of noble fates brings one of the colorful tales of exile and return along with all its twists and turns. František Podstatzký-Lichtenstein spent his childhood in a castle in Velké Meziříčí, and after 1948, he left with his parents for Chile, where he worked in a vineyard and on rice fields, became a shepherd high in the mountains under the Andes, drove a taxi, and piloted small planes. After marrying, he moved to Canada with his wife, where he worked as a bartender, managed a hotel, and achieved success in the wine trade. In the twilight of his life, he returned to Moravia, where he faced perhaps the hardest task of his life: meeting and coexisting with the people who had deprived his parents of their property and forced them into exile.
