Description
The first volume of the twelfth part begins at the turn of 1859-1860, when, as a result of the military defeat of the Habsburg monarchy in Italy, constitutional development is renewed, and it ends in 1890, when the acceptance of the punctuation articles radicalized the Young Czech Party, which viewed this act as a blow to Czech national and linguistic emancipation efforts. However, it cannot be overlooked that, on a general scale, the Czech lands achieved a relatively high social, economic, legal, and cultural standard during the observed period.
