Description

There are cities that showcase architectural skill and building expertise, yet they still lack something. They miss that quality which is hard to define, but whose absence is felt so distinctly. Some might call it the genius loci, the connection of a place with the people who have made their homes there, or simply the right atmosphere. Litoměřice is a prime example in this regard; here, on the banks of the river surrounded by the hills of the Czech Central Highlands, a city was born that perhaps could not have failed to emerge. The backdrop, sketched by natural conditions, was complemented by the hands of builders inspired by the character of the local landscape, creating a place where life is good. PhDr. Ilona Kotyzová (1963) works as an archivist at the State District Archive in Litoměřice. PhDr. Oldřich Kotyza (1963) works as an archaeologist at the Regional Museum in Litoměřice, where he serves as the deputy director.
