Description
This Czech-language book presents two encounters—with a person and with technology—that explore the boundaries of mental health and what we consider a normal world. The first is the author’s interview with psychologist Tomáš Morávek about mental disorders. They discuss depression, anxiety and other difficulties that have unfortunately become a daily part of modern life, as well as personality disorders, with particular attention to narcissists and psychopaths who may be encountered in senior management and political positions. The conversation considers how to protect one’s mental wellbeing, recognise toxic personality traits and communicate properly with such people. The second part turns to another contemporary challenge: artificial intelligence. The author tests AI through an authentic conversation with it. Although he makes no secret of his deep distrust, the AI responds to his confrontational questions with surprising openness, advising how to resist it effectively, preserve one’s autonomy in a world of smart algorithms and help society avoid succumbing to it.
