At the time when I had nearly finished "The Bubble World" and was reveling in the thought of the fundamental truths about the world I had uncovered, I came across a speech by Miloš Forman, which he delivered on the occasion of receiving an honorary scientific degree at the Prague AMU in 1998. After reading it, my enthusiasm somewhat cooled; I began to fear that my version of the truth might bore people, and I was afraid of personal and financial failure. Among other things, Forman said: Does truth even have a chance of success in our commercialized world, not only artistically but also financially? I believe it does. But only if it is a truth that does not bore. It must be a truth that surprises. According to Forman, the first way to surprise is to express a previously unknown truth, which is almost unthinkable in the humanities.
