Description
The experienced author has not just written a cookbook, as it may seem at first glance. Her primary focus is on the healing and preventive health effects of bone broths, which have been known and revered since the Stone Age, as evidenced by archaeology. Ancient Egypt also regarded them as a general prevention against diseases, Hippocrates recommended them as a means to achieve beauty and slimness, and a reliable aid in healing. Galen considered bone broths a means to support mobility in old age, while Paracelsus prescribed them for colds, inflammations, and joint pains. Today's doctors, who remember the healing effects of their grandmothers' soups, also recommend broths for hair growth and shine, against cellulite, for smooth skin and rejuvenation, to strengthen bones in osteoporosis, as a means of detoxification and cleansing the body, as an energy source, and to enhance potency. The author is concerned not only with the healing effects of beef, poultry, fish, and pork broths but also with the aesthetic appearance of soups and dishes, as well as vegetable and spice additions that enhance the enjoyment of their consumption. The ancient saying "You can eat your way to health" holds doubly true in the presented book.
