Description
A romantic tale set in the highest echelons of English nobility at the beginning of the 19th century, it is a love story about love and the binding family and social obligations. Each debutante usually dreams of capturing a count upon her entrance into society. Elin Morris is fortunate that her parents betrothed her to a count shortly after her birth. However, the delays in her marriage to one of London's most significant men have given Elin time to ponder how she can possibly marry Gavin Baynton when she cannot forget his brother Benedict. Ben, angry that he was recalled from military service to attend to 'family obligations,' suffers as he sees his arrogant brother preparing to marry the woman he loves. Working in the army allowed Ben to forget his first love, but a new encounter with Elin brings him back to the day when both, very young and immature, succumbed to burning desire. Elin tries to push Ben out of her mind, but once sudden danger brings them together, resisting their feelings is no longer possible. Can she choose love over duty?
