Rule – Crownover Jay (2019)

A novel story about today's young Americans. The first in a series of six novels – each named after the main character. They are all young, wild, complicated, tattooed, often pierced, but inside different from what they appear on the outside. They tell their stories partly themselves, while their girlfriends narrate the second and often contradictory part. It always revolves around complicated relationships, love, sex, and hatred. Rule and Shaw are different from every possible perspective. Except for one... Shaw has loved Rule from the first moment she saw him. She dated his brother – a twin, who tragically died. Since then, she has become the guardian angel of the living twin. She forgives him everything, the drinking and the whores, the rude behavior, everything. She herself comes from an emotionally cold so-called better family, which is why she feels more at home in Rule's family, who adore her and are desperately trying to 'normalize' their son. Shaw is not afraid of Rule's wildness, tattoos, or piercings, but he only sees her as a friend. She feels that he is not the 'right' partner for her, but she can't help it. She tries to live by the accepted social rules that Rule despises. One night full of passion changes everything... Will they stay together without destroying their love – or each other?
