Description
A slightly zany story about an ordinary class at an American high school in New York. The boys and girls are typical unruly sophomores, their bodies and minds boiling with the hormones of adolescence. Everything changes when the class goes to get flu shots during the lunch break. The teenagers expect no more than a brief sting and perhaps a sore arm or headache, but some of them gain telepathic abilities and can hear what other people are thinking. Tess is in love with Teddy, Mackenzie is cheating on Cooper, and the school nurse, Mrs Carmichael, was once, incredibly, a stripper. Naturally, the newly telepathic students keep their ability to themselves. They can sit next to the biggest nerd and get top grades, while girls can dump boys as soon as the thought of breaking up crosses their minds. The power works both ways, however, and the students learn what others think of their jeans, breath, new fringes, blouses and trainers. Some are delighted, while others begin to lose control. This Czech-language book is full of everything they hear.
