Description
It's not easy to tread lightly in steel-toed boots. Siranta Jax is not exactly renowned for her diplomatic skills. As a "jumper" who navigates ships through the shadow space, she is used to shooting first and discussing later. Now she must negotiate with the Ithtorian, who have an opinion of humans as hard as their exoskeleton. But the Ithiss-Tor council meetings are not the only place where Ambassador Jax must maneuver carefully. Siranta's lover March is stuck in a permanent killing mode, and his irritability could jeopardize the negotiations – not to mention their relationship. However, Jax is determined not to give up either the mission or her beloved man. Now that the Fringe is under siege by pirates and Pajshlaks, an alliance with Ithiss-Tor may be humanity's only hope. Siranta therefore wonders why this task was entrusted to a troublemaker like her.
